As a celebration of the first week of June and the “official” beginning of summer, I thought I’d share some of my favorite summer-y (and not so summer-y) drink recipes! From lemonade to soda, coffee to frozen drinks, I’ve got a little something for everyone. These drinks have helped me to fight my cravings and spend a lot less money at restaurants and Starbucks because I know how to make them at home! Enjoy all of these recipes!

Makes one pitcher of lemonade.

5 tbs of lavender syrup (Torani or Monin work best)

28 oz of lemonade (homemade or mix)

To make homemade lemonade:

1 3/4 cups white sugar

8 cups of water

1 1/2 cups of lemon juice

  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar. Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled.
  2. Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp. In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups water.

To add lavender:

Simply add the 3 oz of lavender syrup to the lemonade (homemade or not) in the pitcher after adding ice. Stir and enjoy!

I found this recipe early in the spring and have been dying to try it out! I decided to make it a little easier on you all (and myself) by substituting the raspberry jam with some good ole’ raspberry syrup. If you prefer more of a challenge visit the jam version here!

6 oz San Pellegrino Limonata

4 tablespoons of Monin raspberry syrup

Juice of 1/2 a lemon or tablespoons of lemon juice

Sprig of mint

Simply add all of the ingredients to a glass (besides the mint) and stir. Slightly crush the mint with your hand before adding to the glass (helps release the flavor). Stir once again and enjoy! Feel free to add some raspberries and lemons to help give this drink an extra-fancy look.

1 tablespoon Torani cherry syrup

2 tablespoons Torani vanilla syrup

1 can of Coke

Simply add all of the ingredients into a glass, stir, and enjoy. It’s also a lot more fun to add a cherry on top!

My dad created this concoction this past winter as we endured the freezing temperature! This recipe is best when using the Ninja Coffee Maker. Feel free to change the espresso/coffee based on what you use to make it!

3 scoops of Espresso Roast coffee

1/2-3/4 cups of whole milk (up to personal preference)

2 tablespoons of Torani butterscotch syrup

Pinch of sea salt

1 tablespoon of butter

Caramel drizzle

Grab your favorite mug and pour the butterscotch syrup and sea salt at the bottom. Melt the tablespoon of butter down to a liquid. Pour the butter at the bottom of the mug as well. Use the 4 oz option on the Ninja Coffee Maker to brew the 3 scoops of Espresso Roast coffee. Using a milk froth (preferably warm milk), froth your milk while the coffee is brewing. Pour milk over coffee, drizzle caramel on top, and enjoy!

I use the Ninja Coffee Maker for this recipe but it can also be easily done with the Aeropress Espresso Maker or what ever you use to make your espresso in the morning! This also makes one big iced coffee so if you don’t have a big enough glass or you don’t want all of that espresso, I would recommend splitting the recipe in half.

3 scoops of Espresso Roast coffee

3 tablespoons of lavender syrup (up to preference, I like it sweet)

cups of skim milk (you can use whatever milk you prefer or however much you prefer, this is just my preference)

Add lavender syrup to the bottom of the glass. Fill glass up 1/2-3/4 of ice. Brew the 3 scoops of espresso on the 4 oz setting over the ice. Pour milk over top of espresso. Put a fun straw in and enjoy the flowery goodness.

1/2 gallon of Sprite or 7-Up

3/4 of Private Selection Sliced Strawberries with Sugar (frozen)

12 oz of frozen limeade concentrate

Add all ingredients into the blender (except for the ice). Pulse and add ice until it is a texture you want. Make it as smooth or rough as you want! Add a strawberry on the side to add some extra fun!

You all have heard of the “Pink Drink”  from Starbucks, right? Well, it’s time to move over because you can now make these Instagram-friendly drinks right at home in your PJ’s! The Violet and White Drinks (not pictured) are some of my new favorites thanks to the VIA Instant packets you can buy at Starbucks. If you are on the run, both of these drinks can be purchased at Starbucks or you can save a couple bucks by making them at home!

WHITE DRINK (not pictured):

1/2 of VIA Instant Cool Lime Refresher Packet

8 oz of coconut milk

Shake all of the ingredients in shaker bottle and pour into glass you wish to use. Want to add a little more pizzazz? Add a slice or two of lime on top.

1/2 of VIA Instant Very Berry Hibiscus Packet

8 oz of coconut milk

Shake all of the ingredients in shaker bottle and pour into glass you wish to use. Want to add a little more pizzazz? Add a couple blackberries and raspberries on top.

Each VIA Instant comes with 5 packets but you only need half for each recipe. Buying that and the coconut milk totals to about $1.70 per drink. I don’t think there is anything that cheap on the Starbucks menu.

Just like that, you’ve become the best party host or you’ve made your morning or evening a little more fun! Be sure to tag @denim910 in your photos of all of your amazing creations. Enjoy! x
