I am a person who loves smoothies but rarely takes the time to make them. Except, for some reason, during this time of year. Late summer/early fall always makes me crave smoothies of any kind, from strawberry to pumpkin. I wanted to give you three of my current favorite smoothie recipes and my adaptations on them! I hope you all will enjoy them as we slowly ease out of summer. x
CHOCOLATE-DIPPED STRAWBERRY SMOOTHIE
Recipe inspiration from: Baker by Nature
1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
3/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk (vanilla or chocolate)
1/2 tablespoon of cocoa powder
1/2 tablespoon of honey
Sprinkle of chocolate chips (or however many you want!)
Place all ingrediants in a blender and pulse at desired level! If you like your smoothies a little more chunky, I’d recommend adding some ice. Enjoy!
BLACKBERRY CHEESECAKE SMOOTHIE
Recipe inspiration from: Nm_meiyee
Blackberry layer: 1/2 cup of frozen blackberries, 1/2 frozen banana, 1/4 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Cheesecake layer: 1/3 cup cashew soaked, 1/2 tsp of pure vanilla extract, 1/2 frozen banana, 1/4 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1/3 cup of vanilla Greek yoghurt
- Put cashews from cheesecake layer into the almond milk from cheesecake layer. Allow it to soak up for at least 10 minutes so the nuts aren’t so harsh in the blender.
- Put ingredients from blackberry layer into blender and blend. Put inside of glass you are using for smoothie.
- Put ingredients from cheesecake layer into blender and blend. Put inside of glass you are using for smoothie.
- Enjoy this refreshing and light smoothie!
PUMPKIN PIE SMOOTHIE
Recipe inspiration from: Fox and Briar
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup pumpkin puree, frozen
1/3 cup of vanilla Greek yoghurt
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
Put it all in a blender and put some pumpkin pie spice or whipped cream on top! Enjoy this all throughout the fall season!
