I don’t know about you all, but I have a really hard time getting creative with my outfits in the summer. If you waltz through the stores this time of the year, you pretty much only see crop tops and shorts that are far too little for women my height. Even though the fall is where I thrive, I’ve had fun this summer getting a little bit more creative than the typical leggings and tank top I go for. Here’s a little bit of outfit inspiration to help get you through the last half of summer!
PATTERNED SHORTS AND GRAPHIC TEE
This is my perfect summer go-to. I also pretty much wear this Queen shirt once a week (or more)… Wearing soft and comfortable shorts (breathability is a must) is the only way I can function during summertime. Nothing is worse to me than wearing tight denim shorts in 90-degree heat. This outfit is easy to dress up or down. I can wear heels for a night out or Vans for mini golf (weird… it’s almost like I did that).

Shorts: American Eagle
FLOWY SKIRT AND TANK TOP
Fun fact: a flowy skirt is like a fan if you spin around very quickly, therefore making it the best summer essential ever. Just like the outfit above, this is really easy to dress up or down. You can wear it to lunch, dinner, or even at the office. This skirt specifically is so comfy that I could actually sleep in it.

THE LITTLE WHITE DRESS
The fall and winter may bring plenty of cute LBDs… but spring and summer are meant for LWDs (little white dresses). Whether it’s a wrap dress, a halter dress, or anything in between, they are perfect for any occasion that could happen in the summertime (except maybe a wedding… ya know, cuz it’s white). Grab your man for date night or your best friends for tacos and margs in this cute little number.

OVERALLS AND T-SHIRT
Okay, so my only hesitation with this outfit is it’s not great if you plan on being out in the sun all day. This is great for a shopping day or really just being in the AC. I love overalls and since I can’t wear them to work, I try to wear them whenever I get the chance. Grab a cute tee to throw underneath and pop a scrunchie on your wrist (or in your hair) and call it a day.

Thanks for tuning in this week to see some of my summer outfit ideas! The countdown is on to fall (2 months… we got this, people)!! Until then, grab your patterned shorts and LWDs! x
