With the start of fall a month away, Labor Day only a couple of weeks away… it seems that summer is coming to an end. Although summer isn’t my most favorite season, it still has so many fun things that won’t continue in the fall! I created a quick little list of the best ways to put a close on this summer’s ending. Let’s take advantage of these last few weeks! x
Visit a local soft-serve ice cream shop.
Here is a list of my favorite shops in Cincinnati:
- Zip Dip
- Creamy Whip
Don’t have anything like those? Go to Dairy Queen!!
Take a day trip somewhere nearby.

Have a picnic.
Even though it’s hot outside, I absolutely love having a picnic. Some of my favorite memories are spending time with people I love on a picnic blanket or bench. Find a local park with a beautiful view and pack your favorite snacks and drinks!
Throw a Labor Day celebration for your family and friends.
Give yourself a lazy Saturday.
This is easier said than done, I know. But as you grow older (I’m sure it only gets worse), you get less and less time to yourself (especially on the weekend). Force yourself a Saturday or Sunday where you plan nothing. Spend some time cleaning up, watching movies, and snuggled up on the couch in the AC. Take a quick walk outside and simply breathe… The next few months of the year are my favorite but they are always a bit of a whirlwind. Remind yourself to take a quick breather!
Learn a new recipe.
Take a walk with someone you’ve been meaning to catch up with.
I hope you all have a beautiful last month of summer! I don’t know about you, but I’m more than excited for fall (one week until PSLs are released, y’all)!! Thanks for tuning in this week! x
