If you’ve been following along on Instagram, then you know I just got back a little over a week ago from my mini-honeymoon in Asheville, North Carolina. We have an absolute blast hiking and driving through the mountains and eating everything we saw. I’m gonna share a few pictures and give you some travel details just in case you’re heading to the Smoky Mountains any time soon! x
DAY ONE – ROAD TRIP
Started off the trip driving through beautiful Tennessee and North Carolina. It got sort of spooky towards the end, so we started listening to the “My Favorite Murder” podcast (good stuff, don’t listen to it if you live alone). We made a pit stop in Knoxville, TN and then headed on to the AirBnb and downtown Asheville!
Places we ate + got coffee:
- Tupelo Honey
- Grilled cheese + pulled pork sandwich, tomato soup, and Cajun Caesar salad.
- Pearl on Union
- Buxton Hall BBQ
- Pulled pork BBQ and aaaaamazing mac and cheese.
DAY TWO – HIKING
We spent the majority of the day getting lost in the beautiful mountains and driving through fog-filled areas listening to once again, My Favorite Murder podcast. After spending way too much time trying to find a waterfall, we headed back and ate.
Places we ate:
- White Duck Tacos
- Not my favorite, but Jon loved.
- French Broad Chocolate Lounge
- Get yourself a piece of cake and hot chocolate… you will not regret it.
- Collaboratory Brewery
- The most delicious and smokey chicken wings (late evening cravings, what can I say?).
DAY THREE- BILTMORE
This was probably my favorite day ever. We spend so much time walking along the Biltmore gardens and exploring the beautiful house. It was genuinely the best and sweetest day.
Places we ate + got coffee:
- Dripolator Coffee
- Jon got a cinnamon roll and it was seriously out-of-this-world. I got a homemade everything bagel… unreal.
- Cedric’s Tavern
- Some of the best burgers and BBQ season fries!
- Strada Italiano
- If you’re looking for a fancy Italian place to eat, this is your go-to. I got the vodka pasta and it was delicious.
DAY FOUR- EATING EVERYTHING
Before we headed back home, we wanted to spend the day exploring more of downtown Asheville. I have never eaten so much and was absolutely sick by the end of the night… but it was so dang worth it.
Places we ate + got coffee:
If you’re anything like me and are pretty much only in it for the food and coffee, I hope you enjoyed this post filled with all of the above. Thanks for joining along in my journey! x
